Hip, hip hooray... it's Friday!
Is everyone ready for a long weekend of fabulous Jubilee celebrations!? I think the enthusiasm for it is much the same as it was for the royal wedding last year, while some will be going all our with street parties and whatnot others will be doing their utmost to avoid it at all cost! Me? I'm hoping that the sunny weather will last over the weekend in the hope of the first picnic of the year, getting on with lots of work that I need to do and most likely be watching one or two Jubilee events on the goggle box. There are one or two celebratory events going on here in Scotland but needless to say they are a wee bit more low key than in England... ;)
Anyhoo, today's colour palette... so, so happy June is finally here, yay!
I snapped this pic of a gorgeous lilac rhododendron last weekend. They are in full flower just now and with the sun shining on these gorgeous petals they just seemed to be glowing with a shade of luminous violet that you wouldn't think would be possible in nature. Just beautiful! I love the wee orange splash on the back petal and the deep magenta coloured pistil (I hope that's the right name, a bunch of the sites I Googled seem to suggest so!?) at the front, such a lovely combination.
Today I seem to have gone a wee bit colour palette happy since I discovered the Aviary editor over on Flickr. It has a few cute effects for adding instant vintage and retro vibes to your pictures, so much fun! A few of which worked so beautifully on this rhododendron pic that I couldn't help myself and made three more palettes...

I can't decide which is my favourite just now since I can see new ideas for garland colour combinations in all of them! Which are you drawn to most?

San Carmen --- all the way. It's softer, but still bright and attractive!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so pretty! The san carmen one is so mellow but still summery.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! The original took my breath away with its gorgeous shades of violet. But the san carmen is very pretty, though more classic.
ReplyDeleteI love the original because of all the lavender tones, but the singe effect has such rich, full colors, so that's my favorites one.
ReplyDeleteventura effect : thumbs up!!!

Ahh, Emma, to my eye, it's the ventura that sings, not too sweetly, just right. It's fun to see how these alterations change an eye's response. Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI love the last image! Its gorgeous. Really pretty. Back here Down Under, the Jubilee isn't a huge event, which is a shame. I find the Royal family quite fascinating and I think its lovely how much the UK love them! So I will try to watch as much as I can on the box! I was soooo lucky last year to visit England and actually meet the Queen! She shook my hand! She was lovely and her eyes were sparkling! Enjoy the celebrations!
ReplyDeleteAll very pretty - I think my favourite is the last one too.
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but the singe effect is my favourite, I just love the burnt orange and rich green with the pinks.
